My first business was an event planning company. I grew it, brought on a business partner, built a team, and sold it after 11 years. When I stepped away I moved into coaching full time (I had done it as a side business for 4 years before) — 1:1 clients, then group programs, then masterminds, then a membership. I tried every model. I learned what worked, what didn't, and what each iteration cost me in time, capacity, and energy.
Eventually I came back to what I do best: advisory. Fewer clients, deeper relationships, more strategic work. The model I wish I'd had a roadmap for the first time I tried to build it.
